Tolerate or QUIT?

Tolerance is the basic need of human beings. To keep the balance we accept each other’s perceptions and preferences. This is something that we do in every step of our life. We try out best to avoid chaos One has to be extremely skilled in this because it is required in your family, profession, relationship, journey, etc. During my observation, I came across many people who looked depressed, and unhappy just because they have to tolerate their family members, bosses, friends, roommates, etc. Tolerance can be physical, mental, social, financial, and many more. Even when I look back it’s a big list and I know the same is with you. My introspection reminds me of’ The Boiling Frog Experiment’.

A frog was kept in a vessel of water. Slowly the temperature of the water was increased. It was found that with the rise in the temperature of the water, the frog could adjust its body temperature. All the time with the rise in the water temperature, the frog kept on tolerating the increased heat. When the water reached its boiling point, the frog could not tolerate the heat. So the frog tried to jump out of the vessel. Unfortunately, it could not do so because the whole amount of energy was consumed in tolerating the adverse condition and the frog died.

The Frog in the hot water
Finding comfort in crucial conditions

What is the irony here?

  1. Frogs can leap up to twenty times their body length. Here, it preferred to tolerate the heat with such excellent quality, wherein it could have escaped.
  2. The quality of adaptability is considered the secret of the success of frogs, which became the cause of the death of this frog.

Some important life lessons:

  1. The best qualities of your life will not help you if you don’t use them at the right time.
  2. Come out of your comfort zone. There is a possibility, with the increase in the temperature the frog felt cozy and preferred to remain there. If you prefer to be in a comfort zone, you may end up your life.

How much to TOLERATE?

  1. When life becomes suffocating, take the plunge. Jump out of the crucial situation. It is good to fight the adversities, but not at the cost of your life.
  2. The more you tolerate, the more you become numb. After adjusting and tolerating the situations if you feel that the situations are beyond your control, better don’t tolerate, quit and move on.
  3. The death of the frog metaphorically is the death of the inner self. Once you get into the habit of tolerance, you become comfortable even though the situation is unbearable.

So my dear friends,

No matter how much you are compelled to tolerate, decide at the right time, and don’t lead your path from cozy to corpse.

Be the owner of your life and enjoy every second.

Watch out and decide how much to put up with! Life is too short.
