Then I analyzed the real hero, peace ambassador, honored by everyone named Mattie J. T . Štěpánek, a famous personality who I think many of you may not have heard & those who know may get nostalgic.
The world was blessed with this walking encyclopedia on July 17, 1990, in Maryland. He was an American poet who belonged to a broken family. He started writing at the age of three. He was very much inspired by former US President Jimmy Carter. He had a wish to meet him and he could meet him. After meeting Mattie, his real hero Mr. Carter said, He is the most extraordinary person I have ever known in my life. Since Mattie was a poet, he had published seven volumes of his bestselling poems which he named Heart songs. He wrote a collection of peace essays that were admired by the people. His essays have also become bestsellers.
Mattie knew the fact that he is here for a very short span. He had no regrets or complaints about that. He was very close to God and said that he feels that he is a messenger of God. He was suffering from a rare neuromuscular disease, dysautonomia mitochondrial myopathy which was inherited from his mother. His three siblings lost their lives due to the same disease. Mattie was the only child who survived. At the age of13, Mattie went to his heavenly abode on June 22, 2004.
He inspires us to find our purpose in life. When I think of this genius, it helps me to be self-aware and introspective. As he said I have figured that I have a purpose, and I have to carry out that purpose.
Mattie left this world at the age of 13, by giving a message of Hope and Peace. We all have lived our life more than him and are living too. Mattie touched the lives of millions. Could we touch or inspire at least one life?
What is your purpose in life? Are we all clear about it? Mattie lived his life with no regrets and complaints. Sometimes I feel, in this rat race of life we have lost ourselves somewhere in the pool of ambitions and status. We have become self-centered with loads of complaints. Mattie inspires us to live each and every moment without any expectations.
